Christmas, Etc.

Post image for Christmas, Etc.

Long time no see!

Dylan’s sleep schedule has changed since we got to New Hampshire. He’s been staying up late and sleeping in late. He’s also been needing me to stay in bed with him until he falls asleep, which means I go to bed with him since I can’t stay awake once I lay down with him. Since I only have time to blog at night, this new schedule has affected the frequency of my posts. I hope everything goes back to normal when we get back home!

Here are some highlights from the last week, Christmas included, though that seems like a million years ago now.

One day while Jay was here we took the kids to see Frozen. I thought it was a great movie! Here’s Dylan and Julia with their dads in the arcade area.

We spent Christmas Eve at my parents’ house. At the end of the night, Ryder serenaded us with Christmas carols on his guitar.

This video is hilarious when you see Jay. He spent most of the visit on his computer because he has some major writing deadlines, but its especially funny because I don’t think he knows what to make of a family singing Christmas carols and I suspect he is also using his computer as a shield.

My mom and Julia…its it just me or is their hair the exact the same color? They are definitely related!

Everyone also came to my parents’ house for Christmas day. The kids had a blast opening and playing with new toys all day. The rest of us semi-relaxed and semi-managed the chaos. My mom made an awesome dinner too.

(I promised Katie I would take a picture of Dylan playing with the toy she and Brad gave him…here it is! He loves it!)

My grandmother received a gigantic box of chocolates from one of her friends. It completely overwhelmed her. She is the queen of dainty portions so she didn’t quite know how to fathom so much chocolate. Luckily, she won’t have to go it alone. She received plenty of help on Christmas day.

Ryder had a very musical Christmas and got quite a few new instruments, including this keyboard.

I’d like to title this picture “Belly”…

By the end of the day, Parker conked out, which he is known to do. He is an excellent lounger.

I have a lot of pictures of Parker lounging. Smile

Another day Dylan and I visited at Kelly’s house. Dylan played with the boys.

And then we met Alana and her family for dinner later that day.

These are Dylan and Julia’s attempts at making duck faces…

Another day we went to my cousin Sarah’s house for a holiday party. She has two young boys also and its always nice to get the whole family together on occasion!

How adorable is Julia in her little party dress!?

She was outnumbered by many, many boys. My other cousin, Kim, has a new baby boy and I have one on the way so next year there will be 8 little boys and 1 Julia! I think she can handle them all.

This is a happy boy!

We attempted to get a picture of all the kids together and sort of achieved it, though Trevor goes missing from some pictures, not all kids are looking at the camera and one of them is always blurry. This was the best one I got on my phone.

Later that night I met back up with Kelly, Parker, Trevor and Ryder at the old, rundown mall near our house. We just wanted to let the kids run around somewhere for awhile before bed.

Ryder had some fun at the Dollar Store…

He wanted me to take this video and I obliged, though I think some day in the future he is going to ask me to take it off the internet!

Dylan and Parker got on a pony ride at the mall and they made me laugh because it’s a rather lackluster ride but they tried to make the best of it.

I’m not sure why I find this so funny:

Dylan and I met Katie for lunch today and then she went with me to Old Navy to help manage Dylan while I picked up a couple pairs of pants for him (they had a huge sale this weekend). He was a maniac at the store and really gave Katie a workout!

That’s it for now! Be back soon!

#RyderbeingRyder. I’m taking it viral, son! hahaha

OMG Dylan looks horrified in that picture. I was so thankful for the hug and kiss right after! I loved seeing you this weekend. You look so beautiful! I love Dylan giving your belly kisses! I love being in your world.
