Cleaning For Company…Better Not Peek!

I’ve spent the last week getting the house ready for my family’s arrival tomorrow. Cleaning for company is such a thing isn’t it?! All the important stuff is done: the car is clean, bedding washed and bathrooms have been disinfected. At first glance, things look pretty tidy, but if anyone opens a cabinet, closet, cupboard or drawer…my dirty little secrets will all be revealed. Let’s take a peek around the house, shall we?

Remember my laundry situation?

This guest room is looking much better today:

As long as no one opens the closet:

Or a drawer:

The kitchen looks fairly tidy:

Unless someone needs Tupperware:

Or cereal. (Or nutritional yeast!)

Dylan’s room has the least amount of clutter:

Until you open the closet:

And this drawer in the living room hutch is so stuffed with junk, it won’t even fully extend anymore:

I could go on and on and on. I’m not exaggerating when I say there is not a single closed space (i.e. drawer, cupboard, etc.) in my entire house that is organized. Not. A. One. Luckily, my family knows me well enough not to expect perfection.

In related news, I’d like to welcome a couple new members to the family! Anything stand out to you in this picture?

That’s right! I have a new pair of slippers! Found them on clearance at Target today. I hope to create a lot of great memories in these bad boys.

Also, Dylan got a haircut today. I think its too short Sad smile She cut off all his curls! His hair grows really fast (this was his fifth haircut) so I hope they come back soon! Here’s a “before” picture of him yesterday and an “after” from today:

Clearly, he had a great time at the salon. Winking smile

Okay, well, I guess that’s all my news. I’m really looking forward to seeing my family tomorrow! They will be staying with me for a week and then Dylan and I are flying back to New Hampshire with them for an additional two week visit. Jay will be staying here in Georgia to work…and enjoy sleeping in a little. My days are usually pretty low-key with just me and Dylan (book-ended by Jay) so I’m excited to see what I end up blogging about with all the activity that will be going on. In the meantime, I’ll be back Sunday night or Monday morning with my Weekend Recap.

I really appreciate this post. I’ve been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You’ve made my day! Thx again! “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” by Friedrich Nietzsche.
