I finally tackled the toy organization project I’ve been dreading for weeks! I couldn’t have done it without Jay, who set aside a couple hours this morning to help me through it. Since I have all the wrong organizational instincts and take forever to complete even the simplest cleaning tasks, I asked Jay to tell me what to do and I would, for once, obey him. He devised a sorting system and we plowed through the mountains of toys. We threw out a bunch of broken toys, put the good ones that he’s outgrown into storage to be dealt with later and reorganized everything that was left. I even made you an incredibly awkward video during the process. This video makes me laugh so hard. You have to wait until the end.

(Kelly, this is your kind of funny.)

Jay worked from home today and then we both picked Dylan up from preschool. It was a special day because we went to the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! show at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. It was awesome. I think Jay and I were even more excited than Dylan. We were disappointed when we first arrived because our seats were bad. We got tickets on Groupon and they ended up being in a makeshift seating area but Jay talked to the manager who moved us right up front!

Anyway, I have one more video to share. Its from dinner…and just too cute! The best part is around 27 seconds in.

Hope you liked these moving pictures!

“Awkward Cleaning Video” cracked me up, and “Silly Dad & Cute Kid” video is truly awesome. Your boys are WAY TOO FUNNY. 😀 I watched it twice and my cheeks hurt from smiling so hard at Dylan’s laughter. He’s adorable!!!! I know some of my favorite moments are watching/listening to my hubby and son Lincoln interact. Being a SAHM, Linc and I are really close, but I can’t even compete with my husband when it comes to getting the great big belly-laughs. Thanks for sharing some fun moments! p.s. I’m not sure if the Yo Gabba Gabba show will be in our neck of the woods (Minneapolis, MN) any time soon, but if so, how long of a performance was it? Was Dylan able to sit through it? It looks like something Linc would enjoy.

Oh, and I want to mention… 1) I found your “watching raindrops” post very meaningful. I have always been the type of person who plans/thinks ahead, and since becoming a mom it has magnified ten fold. I try to make a conscious effort to just BE. Be in the moment. I just want to savor life day by day. I’m really working on it. And 2) I COMPLETELY agree with you… cold, wet wash cloths are nasty. I try to be somewhat “green,” but one of my biggest downfalls is my overuse of disposable cleaning wipes and paper towels. You forgot to mention that usually cold, wet wash cloths smell funny/gross too. 😉

I’m glad it resonated with you too! Its funny that we have to put effort into zoning out, right? I agree about savoring each day. We talked before about wanting to stop time right now because its such a special time in our lives and our boys are at an adorable age, but short of that I think if we can just savor and absorb the experiences as they come, the result will be a life well lived, hopefully without any regrets.

That IS funny when you put it that way… putting effort into zoning out. Gosh, that puts it into such great perspective for me. Why the heck is it taking me such effort to “zone out?!” I like that. I also like the way you wrote that if we absorb the experiences as they come it will result in a good life. That’s what we all want, right? 🙂

Yes, I totally agree about the belly laughs. I am with Dylan all day and can’t generate the kind of laughs his dad elicits within minutes of being home! Maybe its a father-son thing? Anyway, its one of my favorite things too. Also, if Yo Gabba Gabba comes you way GO! It is SO geared toward toddlers and Lincoln could definitely sit through it. Actually, he won’t even be sitting because they get the kids up and moving constantly. It was probably an hour and half all together with a brief intermission so that you can spend money on their merchandise 😉

I am going to look it up right now and find out if/when they’re coming to town. Thanks for the input. Sounds like a blast!

Shoot! Looks like they were just here in January, so it might be awhile. I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for the next time.

You’re a little weird, too, Ry! (But in a good way!) Weird people are generally more interesting than not-weird people, right?! Miss you already! Oh, and you left two pairs of pants!

I love Dylan’s laughter! I plan to watch this whenever I need a lift !
