TED Talks (to me)

(Geez, that’s a loud image, isn’t it?!)

So, have you heard of TED Talks? They’re a very popular series of 18-minute presentations given by the greatest minds in the world on various fascinating topics. Some of them will absolutely blow your mind and change the way you see the world forever. I have been sucked into them lately! Seriously, just go to the website sometime and start watching a presentation on a topic that appeals to you and I’m sure you’ll get sucked in too.

Because the only opportunities I get to expand my horizons seem to occur during my workouts, I’ve taken to downloading these TED talks to my iPhone and listening to them while I run. However, I (pardon the pun) ran into a problem with this because I had too many talks loaded onto my phone and they hampered my phone’s performance. I ended up deleting my TED talks and downloaded NPR’s Ted Talk Radio Hour episodes instead because they’re just audio files and take up less memory. I might even like these better than the straight up TED Talks because they focus on a particular topic, include the most pivotal parts of the original talks, and then interview the presenters to get even more in-depth on the topics. Don’t take my word for it; here are two that I highly, highly recommend:

TED Radio Hour: Where Ideas Come From

TED Radio Hour: The Creative Process

You can get them here on iTunes if you want to load them onto your iPhone, which I highly recommend.

You should probably still be worried.
