I started this blog over two years ago with a post about duck poop. Since then, poop has been a recurring theme. I can’t say I’m proud of this, but a blog about parenthood, if it is honest, is bound to involve some talk about poop. So here I am being honest again.
I have been way too involved with poop this week and its always on the bottom Dylan’s shoes. Usually it’s the ducks and geese that live at the pond across the street from our house or the ones by the library, but today it was Dylan’s own poop. Fun!
I’ve developed a pretty good system for cleaning poop from shoes. I start by making sure they are taken off immediately. Then I use the designated “poop scrubber” that I hide under the sink (and disinfect between each cleaning). I use dish soap, hot water and elbow grease, keeping the top of the shoe dry and scrub until the bottom is completely clean. Then I let the shoes air dry on a towel.
Here you can see my poop cleaning in action with a bit of an explanation! Don’t worry…you don’t actually see anything that will make you gag.
And that was the latest installment of The Poop Files.
