Hope you are enjoying the holiday season thus far! One more and we’ll have a little reprieve! We had a great Christmas at my parents. It was chaotic (in a good way) and filled with cheer!
It was hard to say goodbye yesterday, though the winter storm that sent us off made it a little easier to head back South.
And so, we made it. The airport was not fun.
It was crowded, dirty and chaotic (in a bad way) with a delayed plane and baggage confusion.
That said, I actually had a pretty great time with Dylan. While Jason revenge-tweeted Airtran Airways, Dylan and I ran around the terminal counting chairs and playing the drums on tables. He is so comfortable on airplanes now, too! He gets to his seat, buckles himself in and settles in with his various surprise toys and food treats for the flight. (All of these tips have really paid off! I’ll have to update the list soon with tips for flying with older toddlers.)
Wish I could end it on that happy note, but I woke up today with a little bug and a whole lot of unpacking to do!
I am going to put the packing on hold until I feel better. I haven’t been able to eat anything yet today but am about to attempt some noodles with butter because that is the only thing that sounds doable right now.
Wish me luck!
p.s. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for another great visit home! I love you both so much! Can’t wait to have you here next!
