Wow…another update and its not to announce the baby’s birth! That’s a surprise to me. I’m 36 weeks and 3 days (3 days longer than Dylan) and feeling very happy to have made it this far. I thank my mother in law, Roxanne, and Jay for getting me past 36 weeks. Roxanne has been so amazing taking care of all of us and the housework since she got here last week and Jay has been taking Dylan out and keeping him happy while my mobility is limited. They are both lifesavers!

At my last OB appointment the midwife said that at this point every day the baby stays inside is huge and she really wanted me to make it to 37 weeks, which is technically full term…that’s four days away. If I make it that far I will be comfortable resuming normal activity until little Levi is ready to come out, but if I don’t make it that far at least I will know I did everything possible to keep him in as long as I could. So yeah, this is a positive update!

This past week I did very little outside some driving and a few errands. This recap will have a lot of pictures of Dylan and Roxanne because its been mostly the three of us hanging out all week (except for when Jay is home).

Here’s Roxanne working with Dylan on riding his bike. For some reason, Dylan really struggles with this activity. He gets the pedaling fine but steering still hasn’t clicked. Its one of those things I know he will get spontaneously and then just have it down pat all at once, when he is ready.

I love videos of kids learning to ride their bikes, so here are two of them! These are extra special because they include his Grammy Roxanne.

Another outing took place at a park.

And more grammy time back at home. These two have a great relationship. Dylan is lucky to have such warm and loving grandparents!

Jay and Roxanne ran out to Target to pick up something for the baby’s room. Dylan had fun tagging along:

The weather was warm on Saturday and Dylan decided it was time to start getting wet outside. He stripped down on his own and made it happen!

Roxanne stayed cool in Dylan’s hat…

Jay and Dylan also took some pictures together. Dylan seems to have his dad’s knack for photography.

Oh! and I wanted to share some great news about Dylan. He has made a huge developmental leap lately. He is now fully potty trained (well, except for at night because I haven’t really tried that yet, but he does wake up dry) and he dresses himself completely on his own. Yes, I know most 3.5 year olds can do these things but it was taking awhile for us so its really exciting that Dylan figured it out, and just in time for Levi’s arrival. He’s also been much more adaptable and agreeable to various social situations and is taking on more self-care activities without our prompting. For example, when bedtime rolls around, he knows the steps we have to take to get him ready for bed and he initiates them rather than fights them.

Here he is filling his overnight water bottle after putting on his jammies by himself:

I think he knows he is moving up in ranks and is really taking on the roll of a big boy now. I’m happy for him and also emotional about the changes…because I can’t help it.

Jay and Roxanne took Dylan swimming at Jay’s gym Sunday morning.

They also went out to lunch. Dylan called me a few times while they were out and it was sweet talking with him on the phone, which I don’t normally get to do because we are usually always together. I’m looking forward to being his normal mother with full mobility and energy soon. He has been so understanding and helpful to me this whole pregnancy and I really think he understands why things are they way they are right now and also that his brother is coming. He is a sweet, smart boy.

Sorry I’m so dramatic. I blame hormones.

I promised awhile back that I would share pictures of the nursery once it was finished, so here they are!

You probably noticed the lack of crib and that’s because we’ll be co-sleeping. Jay ran out to a mattress store this weekend and negotiated a great deal on a queen size bed because we wanted something big enough to accommodate Dylan when he wants to snuggle too.  We’ve bought a bunch of mattresses (don’t ask) from Save Big Mattress in Smyrna since we moved here and highly recommend them.

Last things last, here’s another unpacking video. If you recall, these are the videos Jay is taking showing the unpacking process of various toys, In this case its VTech Switch & Go Dinos Turbo Fray The Ankylosaurus. Unless you came here specifically for this video, it will be a little boring so please feel free to skip it!

Unpacking VTech Switch & Go Dinos Turbo Fray The Ankylosaurus :

Good bye for now! The next time I write maybe I’ll be showing you a picture of Levi!
