Before I get to the weekend recap, a little pregnancy update. This time, good news! I mentioned last week that I was possibly having some complications that might involve bed rest. I went back to the doctor’s this weekend and things are looking MUCH better! In fact, right now, everything is great. I still have to “take it easy” but that’s about it. We are very relieved and hope things stay this way.

Dylan and I went to the grocery store after I picked him up from preschool on Friday. We ran into his friend Olivia and they both got frosted cookies.

We also spent some time at the park next to our house. Dylan found a football under a bench and had fun playing a loose version of catch with Jay when Jay got home from work.

We celebrated Jay’s brother’s birthday at lunch on Saturday. Justin arrived in a three piece suit, as is his custom nowadays. The rest of us felt severely underdressed!

We went to Barnes and Noble after lunch with he intention of getting Dylan a book, but he spotted the toys and became obsessed with getting a toy instead. Unfortunately, we had told him he could only get a book because he’s been getting toys like crazy lately (he was on antibiotics for 10 days and the only way we could get him to take his medicine was with a new toy so he got ten toys over the last ten days!). It ended in a meltdown and a quick exit. Sad smile

We ended up at Jay’s work to help Dylan cool off. He loves exploring the office and looking at the video equipment.

I think Jay is going to have a good production assistant some day.

We spent the morning fiddling around the house on Sunday. Dylan and I enjoyed making paper bag monster puppets together.

You can find them on Amazon here . There are a ton of them in the package too!

We went out to lunch and ran some errands later in the day. Dylan has been fun playing Toca Boca’s Hair Salon Me. You can take a picture of yourself and create different hairstyles. Here’s Jay:

And, a few shots from the tub to close out the day:

I went to the doctor’s Monday morning while Jay watched Dylan. That was when I got my good news. When I got back I took Dylan to a park and out to lunch while Jay did some work.

Dylan went to a gym class in the afternoon. Jay and I were with him and during the class he got injured. He was on the floor and the instructor tried to pull him up by his hand and ended up dislocating his elbow. Sad smile At the time we didn’t know what was wrong with him (though Jay suspected it was dislocated); all we knew was that he was in a lot of pain and it wasn’t going away. We ended up taking him to an urgent care center and had to wait a couple hours in the waiting room.

About and hour and a half into it:

Dylan was so tough about his pain. He never cried and was very brave during his x-rays and exams even though they were really painful.

This was the arm:

After the x-rays came back the doctor confirmed it was dislocated and then she reset it. Dylan didn’t expect it coming and gave a jolt from the pain but then he immediately felt 100% better. The doctor said this is very common with little kids and that there won’t be any lasting effects from it. Thank goodness!

That’s about it from me! Hope you guys had great weekends with less visits to doctors’ offices!

I am so happy for the good news all around. I LOVE the picture of you kissing his head on the table in the doc office. Miss you.

So glad to hear your good news and that Dylan has his elbow back together!! I didn’t know that a child’s elbow could dislocate that easily. I will be more careful, too, when pulling the boys up from the floor! They are always extending their arm and asking for help!!!!

All’s well that ends well! So glad to hear the good news! Dylan is looking so cute and like a big boy, especially with that football! Here’s to a great week ahead for all of you! No mishaps!
