Weekend Recap: Hugs!

Post image for Weekend Recap: Hugs!

It was a very kid-centric weekend around here, but then they all are. Years from now the image I will probably take away from it is of Dylan and Julia enveloping each other in big bear hugs. Luckily, I have plenty of pictures and videos capturing the cuteness. This might be my most precious recap ever!

Friday

My dad took off from work on Friday so that we could all spend the day together. We hung around the house in the morning.

The weekend long hug-fest kicked off that morning. I’m not sure what started it, but I walked into the room and saw this:

They couldn’t stop hugging and carried on upstairs!

More scenes from the morning included Julia doing my hair, which it desperately needed. Side note: I haven’t had a chance to get it cut since March!

And just playing…

We all went into Wolfeboro in the afternoon. There was a fair there so the kids got to go on some rides. Dylan insisted on conducting the train.

He gave some kids a ride…

And then took a spin by himself (x3).

We grabbed some lunch after that.

My lunch was simple but pretty.

We walked around a little after lunch. My dad, Dylan and Ryder:

Later, back home, the kids played outside before dinner. Here they are…scheming.

My sister Alana is in the process of moving into her new (amazing) house. The plan Friday night was to grab dinner out and then drive over to see her new place. Dylan and I made it to the dinner part but he was too tired for anything else so I brought him back home to go to bed.

Saturday

A bunch of us took the kids to Story Land on Saturday. The group included Kelly’s family (Kelly, Ben, Trevor and Parker),

Alana’s family (Alana, Jamie, Ryder and Julia),

And my mother, Dylan and me. With such a big group we had to divide up but we met up a few times too.

Here’s Dylan in Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater’s house.

Here’s Dylan on a tea cup ride:

We took Julia, Parker and Dylan on the roller coaster. Dylan LOVED it…the faster the better.

The last thing we did was play in a big room filled with soft balls and various cannons that shoot them out. Dylan was winding down at that point…getting reflective.

Then he was joined by his snuggle buddy…

And more hugs ensued!

Here’s a cute picture of Trevor!

Random side note…if you haven’t seen many pictures of Trevor and Parker lately, that’s because the kids have been passing around a virus and they were dealing with it last week at their house and we are dealing with it at my parents’ house this week. I’m hoping they are all doing better by next week!

Sunday

Sunday was pretty low-key. I took Dylan to see Alana’s new house (Again, its so great!) and then to Walmart for a toy.  He picked out a birthday party themed Baby Alive doll. I thought maybe he liked the doll at first but once he opened it I realized he just wanted the party hat and blower accessories.

Later that afternoon Dylan played in my parents’ backyard. Look at this incredible cloud:

Just some cute pics of Dylan on the slide:

And now, what I’ve been waiting this whole post for! Here are some amazing pictures of Dylan and Julia hugging along with the most adorable video ever posted on this blog!

I agree that is the most special video! I am such a lucky grandmother to have such a beautiful family and a daughter who has captured some priceless moments for her blog. I could just hug you!
