Jason introduced Dylan to breakdancing on Saturday morning and Dylan seems to be catching on!
The last time we were at the aquarium we got season passes, so we decided to put them to use this weekend. The aquarium is close to our house and Dylan loves it, so it’s a great place for us to go when we don’t know what else to do. Dylan knows where all his favorite exhibits are so he likes to break free from us and set his own course when he gets in there. We just try to keep up!
There were a bunch of people swimming with giant fish in the biggest tank at the aquarium. We discovered that they were just aquarium guests who paid to swim with the fish. I checked it out online and its expensive but not ridiculously expensive so Jay and I may do this for a very special date activity someday!
Also of note, Dylan sat through and enjoyed his first 3D movie! It was called Deepo’s Undersea 3D Wondershow. It ran about 20 minutes, which was the perfect length for a toddler. It was a little awkward having to hold the over-sized glasses on his face just so so that he could see correctly, but we made it work!
After the aquarium we grabbed some lunch.
When we were done lunch I asked Dylan what he wanted to do next and he said, “Park!”. So, we went to a park.
It was mild out and the park was busy. Dylan’s favorite part was being tossed around by Jay.
We were all exhausted when we got home from the park. Jay was especially tired because he’s been staying up until 2 am working more often than he hasn’t. He took a short nap while I did some housework and gave Dylan a bath.
Dylan went to bed early so Jay and I had a lot of time to hang out, make a good dinner and watch Homeland after that!
There wasn’t anything on the agenda on Sunday (today). We got in the car after breakfast and ran a quick errand.
Dylan navigated the way.
Jay had a meeting later in the morning so Dylan and I kicked it at home. We played outside first. He enjoyed the tape measure again.
We also played at the park across the street and then went back to our house to play with Play-Doh in the garage.
Dylan and I ate lunch together around noon.
I didn’t have anything special for lunch, just an orange and a big bowl of squash.
For some reason, Dylan found the word “squash” hysterical today. Every time I would say it he would repeat it and then giggle so hard he was snorting. Needless to say, I was saying “squash” on a loop the rest of the day. His giggles are my drugs because they are so addictive to hear!
Later in the day, after Jay came home, we set back out. We didn’t have a destination in mind, we just knew we wanted to go somewhere. We went through a drive thru to get coffees and when I took out my “wallet” to get my credit card Jay insisted I take a picture of it for this post. Here it is, in all its glory:
Don’t be jealous. (I’m going to do a full post on my wallet situation soon.) Update: Here it is –> What’s In My Bag
One road lead to another and soon we found ourselves right by a Catch Air so we popped in for a few minutes to let Dylan play.
It was insanely crowded. I usually take Dylan on weekdays and its just me and a few other women with kids. Today it was packed and there were a ton of men there too. Jay looked about as pumped as the other dads to be there…
Just (sort of) kidding. It was crowded and hot but Dylan had fun and Jay enjoyed taking him down the one gigantic slide they have there.
The rest of the day was spent regrouping at home! We made dinner and just hung out. Dylan is now asleep and I’m getting ready to eat ice cream and watch Homeland. Living the good life over hear
