This recap is a few days overdue, but better than nothing!
Here we are! I’m 31 weeks this week and feeling good! I’m tired and feel gigantic, but every day this baby stays inside and doesn’t emerge prematurely is a good day.
Jay spent Friday in Las Vegas having a meeting with Boyz II Men…because that’s what he does.
Here he is with Wanya Morris:
Meanwhile, I stayed home and made cookies with Dylan…because that’s what I do.
Jay was due home Saturday around dinner time. Dylan and I had a special day alone together, starting with a performance of Weather Rocks at the Center for Puppetry Arts.
Then we had lunch out together:
And capped the afternoon off at a park.
Dylan loves pretending to be a Dinobot and scaring people these days. He was roaming his way through the park “roaring” at anyone that crossed his path.
The ROARing continued when Jay got home.
Saturday wrapped up with all of us staring at my moving stomach while the baby did gymnastics inside.
Sunday morning, Spider-Man Dylan held vigil outside the bathroom door until Jason came out. Jay will run in for just a minute and Dylan will wait outside saying, “Dada, you okay in there?” Cracks me up.
We had a fun morning at our friends’ house. Jase, Davina and Zara invited us over along with Trey, Lesly and Olivia so that the kids could do an art project together. The girls enjoyed the art while Dylan enjoyed running around the house and playing with all of Zara’s toys.
He also LOVES spending time with pets and he hardly ever gets to, so he was a happy camper!
We discovered a new toy he has to have…a drum set. Dylan tried out Zara’s and was a natural! Jay and I decided it might be a cool gift to give him when the baby comes. I also noted that it’s a little odd to buy a drum set in conjunction with acquiring a newborn who needs peaceful sleep, but we aren’t practical people so we’ll probably do it anyway.
The art project was cool! The kids melted crayons into the shape of hearts and made valentines with them. Here’s a video of the crayons getting dumped out of their molds:
After that we all went out to lunch at Muss & Turner’s. Our friends walked to the restaurant while we drove because I’m not supposed to do any exercise. We arrived early and sat outside while we waited because the weather was so nice. I had Jay snap a few belly pics while we were waiting because I don’t really have many from this pregnancy.
He didn’t want to take pictures with his iPhone…he said we should wait until he could grab his good camera. But let’s face it; they may never happen. He begrudgingly agreed to snap a few camera and pics and mark my words…these will be some of the only ones from this pregnancy! A bird in the hand, right?
Speaking of photography, Dylan and Olivia took these pictures of each other with my phone during lunch. The are pretty good photographers!
The only other news is that Dylan is still really into super heroes. He’s added Iron Man to his list of favorites. Here he is sort of singing the Spider-Man theme song circa 1967.
And that’s about it!
Hope you all had great weekends!
