Dylan and I are having a great visit here in New Hampshire. Its refreshingly cool – just about cold – but I’ll take it after the lingering heat from summer in Georgia.

I spent Saturday morning in an Urgent Care trying to convince the people there to inject me with my proscribed progesterone shot. I have to get a shot per week until 36 weeks of pregnancy (assuming I make it that far) and I had my doctor’s orders and all the necessary paperwork but the people at the urgent care didn’t want to inject me. Instead, they offered to teach one of my family members how to do it if they could meet me at their clinic. My sister Kelly volunteered so she ended up giving me the shot and it all worked out in the end, but it was a process.

After that, my sisters and I took the kids to DeMeritt Hill Farm for a storybook hayride. DeMeritt is a beautiful apple orchard in Lee, NH and the hayride included multiple stops where storybook characters come aboard the hayride and hand out candy to the kids. After the hayride the kids were ushered into a warm and quaint little school house to hear a story from Mother Goose. The adventure concluded with pumpkin picking and face painting. It was a great experience for the kids!

Some pictures from the farm:

Finally, face painting!

We all split ways after the orchard. Dylan and I returned to my parents’ house to go out to dinner with my dad. My mom was away at a wedding…

After dinner, my dad had to get something at Home Depot so we tagged along. Dylan was psyched to possibly get a new tool, which my Dad was planning to get him, but Dylan ended up flipping out when he couldn’t run free through the store so we had to leave early and empty handed. Before that happened, however, he enjoyed a chance encounter with a talking parrot.

Katie came over to visit us on Sunday. My sisters and their families also came for the day. It was a full house and the kids had fun playing together.

Katie and Dylan have a special bond…

Katie and I made an apple crisp using a bag of apples I got from the orchard along with homemade whipped cream. It was too good.

A lot of the day was spent outside.

Ryder took and edited a ton of cool pictures today and he said he was going to email them to me to include in this post but they haven’t come through yet so I’ll do a separate post with them if I can figure where they are. Ryder did take some of the following, though (they just don’t have his cool editing effects).

Such as this one of my grandmother:

This one of Dylan:

My mom made chicken soup when she got home, which was something I requested as I have been craving it. I am making a lot of requests for her comfort food on this visit! The only other news from the day was that Julia got a fever while she was here and may be getting sick. Sad smile She was in good spirits despite her temperature. Feel better, Julia!

Oh, and Parker took a snooze later in the day and Dylan decided to try and join him…but he was clearly too wired to fall asleep!

Hope you all had great weekends!

I had so much fun with you guys! Looks like Ryder has a calling to be a professional photographer (along with his Rock-star and musical theater career already in place)! Those pictures are great!

I should have stolen some more of that apple crisp for later! I love when you’re home.

The apple crisp didn’t even last the night! Everyone loved it! You are a great sous chef!
