Emotional Eating

Dylan fell and hit the back of his head haaaard today. I was trying to comfort him during his well-deserved cry and carried him to the freezer to retrieve an ice pack. I placed the ice on his head (which he promptly pushed away) and brought him back to the couch in the living room, ready to smother him with kisses, which is my singular approach to comforting him.

I’d barely started when Dylan, still wailing, wriggled out of my arms and toddled back into the kitchen and began pounding on the freezer door.

Confused and curious, I opened it to see what he wanted. He lept for a container of Häagen-Dazs, brought it to the floor and took off the lid. I handed him a spoon and let him go to town because I’ve been there.

Moral of the story: mommies are great but ice cream makes everything better.

I can’t stop laughing. He is way too smart. Ice creams indeed makes everyone feel better.

Looks like the early onset of Prader-Willi syndrome to me. Time to get locks for the cabinets and refrigerator.
