Ahoy! Its been awhile. I was on vacation last week, home for a couple of days and then back on the road. I am writing from my parents’ h0use in New Hampshire where my family is finally getting to meet Levi. So far they all seem pleased with him. I hope he doesn’t screw it up. š

My favorite time of day is first thing in the morning. We all cuddle in bed. Actually, Dylan and Levi do most of the cuddling. Levi doesnāt have a ton of say in the matter, but he is a good sport.

I was recently contacted about being included in a “We Heart Bloggersā giveaway initiative for Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con, which is taking place May 30th – June 1st. My family is receiving passes to the event and I am running a contest here to give away a 4-pack of single day tickets to five winners. Each adult ticket includes free admission for up to 2 children under 10 years old. I also have a discount code available in case you want to go but donāt win the contest!

ā¦I had a baby. He is in college now.
Not really.
It feels like forever ago but its only been three weeks. You can add āannouncing the birth of a childā to the list of my other shortcomings, along with things like, āsending out thank you notes in a timely manner/at allā and ācleaning my houseā. All things I very much want to do but seem to never accomplish. Iām bad at this grown up thing.

Spring is in full bloom! Itās a time of growth, rebirth and new beginnings. This is my favorite time of year. If all the seasons were a day, spring would be the morning. Since I am a lark, Iām happiest this time of year.

I canāt write a weekend recap today because Jay has most of the pictures on his phone and heās at work. But, I wanted to pop in just to give an update and say I havenāt had the baby yet. This is very unexpected! I was SURE he was coming early but I was wrong! Iām well into my 38th week. At this point, I have no expectations and Iām trying not to analyze every sensation because I seem to be reading everything wrong. Each day I tell Jay and Roxanne, āThis is the day!ā Then its not. Of course, at 38 weeks any day could really be the day but Iām not making any bets on which one.

Breaking news! The baby made it full term! I am now in my 37th week and the baby is safe to come whenever he is ready now. Hooray!
We made it another week and I thank Roxanne for that. She has made everything manageable and now that I made it to 37 weeks I feel comfortable resuming my regular activities. It could be another 10 minutes or 10 days but we are ready to meet Levi now.

Wowā¦another update and its not to announce the babyās birth! Thatās a surprise to me. Iām 36 weeks and 3 days (3 days longer than Dylan) and feeling very happy to have made it this far. I thank my mother in law, Roxanne, and Jay for getting me past 36 weeks. Roxanne has been so amazing taking care of all of us and the housework since she got here last week and Jay has been taking Dylan out and keeping him happy while my mobility is limited. They are both lifesavers!
At my last OB appointment the midwife said that at this point every day the baby stays inside is huge and she really wanted me to make it to 37 weeks, which is technically full termā¦thatās four days away. If I make it that far I will be comfortable resuming normal activity until little Levi is ready to come out, but if I donāt make it that far at least I will know I did everything possible to keep him in as long as I could. So yeah, this is a positive update!

I started this blog over two years ago with a post about duck poop. Since then, poop has been a recurring theme. I canāt say Iām proud of this, but a blog about parenthood, if it is honest, is bound to involve some talk about poop. So here I am being honest again.
